We keep hearing about sea levels rising

We keep hearing about sea levels rising.

Many will remember the forecasts in the 1970s, 80s and 90s about the Maldives being under the sea by 2012 then it was 2018, yet in 2019 new resorts continue to be built in the Maldives, which remains a beautiful holiday destination.

If you Google new accommodation in the Maldives, you will see the comments below.

The Maldives is looking forward to an abundance of new hotels set to open throughout 2018 and into early 2019, demand of visitors, following a government strategy to dramatically increase the number of hotel rooms in the Maldives, the president promised to open 50 new resorts in a five-year period, creating 18,000 new workplaces. 20 new resorts and after the opening of Kandima Maldives, Finolhu, Fushifaru Maldives, Reethi Faru and Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort at the end of 2017, the opening of the 2018 and 2019 season is hotly expected, including Mӧvenpick Resort & Spa Kuredhivaru Maldives, Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, Carpe Diem Beach Resort & Spa, Italian Baglioni Resort Maldives, ultra-luxurious Waldorf Astoria Maldives, LUX * North Malé Atoll and 4-star OBLU.

Does this sound like a tropical nation concerned about sinking below the sea?

Thirty-one (31) years have come and gone since dire warnings that the Maldives would be undersea by 2018, yet the Maldives is still approximately 4 foot above sea level. We continue to hear forecasts of doom year after year, however as the forecast clock times out of the forecast date, nothing that was so boldly predicted happened. We could fill a book just on these bold unfulfilled forecasts that did not eventuate, yet they keep coming and again more recently the same concepts are relabelled. How long should intelligent people continue to accept these false claims?

What we see now are new warnings for the next decade and onwards, and they are becoming more urgent, using more extreme language, as they desperately try to convince our young with their twisted ideology that has failed to produce any real tangible results. Please note, weather and climate are two very different things, yet we see these climate activists trying to use daily weather events as climate change. Weather fluctuates consistently, scientists who study it daily admit forecasting is complex and they often don’t get it right. Climate is significantly more complex and works on 30- and 60-year cycles. We have very minimal long-term data to verify such cycles, in fact only 2 x 60-year cycles, any financial forecaster would advise two cycles does not provide sufficient reliability to make an accurate forecast.
