Career Building Boost for NSW Childcare Centres – Accelerated Degree for NSW Early Childhood Workers

A welcome development is now available for the Early Learning sector with the University of Wollongong starting their innovative new program that enables early childhood workers to gain an education degree in two years instead of four, becoming qualified teachers.

In partnership with the NSW Department of Education and The Early Learning and Care Council of Australia, this exciting new pathway for early years education is a win for centres struggling with recruiting and retention.

The program allows diploma-qualified educators to upskill and receive mentoring while they continue to work. Students will be recognised for prior learning through their work experience and a credit-point system boosting their career progression in rapid time while using real-life experience through their studies. They can choose to study online and at times that work around their roles.

We consider this great initiative as a big win for NSW early education providers!
