DA Approval secured for 94-place childcare centre
From vision to approval: smarter childcare centre development in Kellyville, NSW
At Mollard Property Group, our integrated approach to Centre Design, Design Management, and Development Management has led to the successful DA approval for a thoughtfully planned 94-place childcare centre.
Nestled beside a large natural reserve, the centre was purposefully designed to embrace the surrounding landscape and support nature-based learning. A spacious, north-facing outdoor play area encourages exploration and brings our client’s vision for immersive nature play to life.
Every design decision – from orientation to outdoor play placement – was made with community in mind. Generous building setbacks and strategic layout choices maximised natural light while minimising noise impacts on neighbouring properties.
A key achievement in the process was securing a car park dispensation through early and constructive engagement with Council, backed by a comprehensive traffic study and clear planning rationale.
The site’s rich natural vegetation presented challenges, but also opportunities. Through close collaboration between the architect, civil engineer, landscape designer, and arborist, we overcame complex site constraints and successfully retained 19 existing trees, integrating them into a vibrant natural play environment.
