Free universal childcare could be on the horizon!

Now could be the perfect opportunity for experienced Centre Managers to consider starting their own childcare business and become an Owner Operator.

Under the long-term reforms, planned by the Government – Childcare could become a free essential service like Medicare.

Jason Clare – Federal Education Minister revealed this strategy ahead of a report into childcare costs by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission.Mr Clare stated that Anthony Albanese wants to build a universal early education system in parallel to the free healthcare system in Australia – Medicare.

“You don’t have to rely on your credit card to get good access to health care… it’s that green (Medicare) card in your purse or in your wallet. Just like we’ve got a universal retirement system called superannuation, one of the legacies he wants to leave is a universal early education system”

– Said Mr Clare.

The childcare subsidy that started on July 1 offers cheaper childcare to 1.2 million families. With some families potentially saving 95% of their childcare fees through subsidies.

Both sides of the political isle have partisan support for the childcare sector. This ongoing support to increase the childcare workforce and make childcare more affordable and accessible is expected to lead to a sharp rise in demand for childcare.
